Time to act ... And
they did!

For the founders of Forest Day, a long sought-after goal—a firm agreement to move ahead with a programme to curb carbon emissions from deforestation and forest degradation—was achieved in December 2010 at the Sixteenth Conference of the Parties (COP16) to the UNFCCC in Cancún, Mexico.
